Stephanie Taylor - Nature's Recurring Theme

Artist statement:

Photography allows you see detail and shape you may not see when just looking at an object, it can change your thought process and let your imagination run wild.

Nature’s Recurring theme explores the recurring shapes, patterns and similarities found in nature, specifically tessellations and fractals within fruit and vegetables and the similarities between food and body parts.

Fractals are never-ending patterns that repeat themselves at different scales. However, the pattern is simple, even though it looks complicated. A good example of this would be a snowflake. The images that make up Nature’s Recurring theme form a series intended to be read in the style of documentary.
